The Northcore myspace profile has had a major facelift! Check it out www.myspace.com/carlnorthcore

We have added new tracks to it including a demo of our dance track Breakfast Chai which is currently being reworked for release. This track has already enjoyed DJ plays at festivals Glastonbury, Glade, and Boom to name a few.

This Christmas we are leaving soft ambient music behind and concentrating on writing some cute electro and trance. It’s fun to write but using analog synths is kind of essential so I’m tied to the studio for any recording because the basslines nearly all come from my PAiA Fatman.

I can perhaps get similar results using software, but then I spend loads of time applying EQs and plugins trying to get the sound “warm” enough. With the Fatman it already sounds EXACTLY as it should, no FX required!

I might need to change the dials on it soon though, they are getting a bit crackly!! It’s 13 years since my friend Andy Mac built it for me from a kit we ordered over the internet.
