Budapest
I am visiting this pretty city for a 3 day conference. It’s really nice, food is reasonable in price and high in quality, people are friendly and the views and architecture are stunning. Really beautiful mix of all styles, and many of the buildings have been lovingly restored and cleaned. Last night I saw Don Giovanni at the State Opera. Lovely chocolate box style opera house, dripping with gold and paintings. Excellent orchestra and some very talented singers. Dinner afterwards at Central Kavehaz. It reminds me a lot of Prague, except more sprawling and a little more ‘juicy’. I also grabbed a cake and coffee at Ruzwurm, which was extremely charming both in terms of decor and cakes as well as service.
